Insurance Operations Specialist

As an Insurance Operations Specialist at Assurely, you will perform administrative and operational support functions for the organization. Your role will work closely with the operations team to achieve and sustain the reporting, compliance, quality, and service goals of the department. Other primary responsibilities include project work.
This is an intermediate operation position that offers a unique opportunity for continued growth and insurance skill development, specifically in the early-stage insurtechstart-up space. You'll be an integral part of our team, handling a variety of tasks that require attention to detail, strong organizational skills, resourcefulness, and a passion for efficiency and process improvement..

Responsibilities
Process Improvement: Actively participant in ongoing efforts to create new operational processes and efficiencies and suggest improvements of pre-existing ones.
Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and maintain policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements. Communicate these policies to employees and ensure their understanding and adherence.
Reporting: Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to management, regulatory authorities, and other relevant parties. Highlight any issues, remediation efforts, and changes in compliance status.
Claims Handling: Assist in the claims handling process, including receipt of first-notice of claim, information and documentation collection, coordination with claims adjusters, client communications and expectation, and file management.
Billing / Invoicing Monitoring: Provide support for billing and collection activities, including invoicing and payment processing of more complex accounts and issues.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure they meet contractual obligations and deliver services that align with the Assurely's standards.
Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or another related field; or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of experience in the insurance sector, in operations, claims, compliance, , or reporting / analytics.
Familiarity with insurance products, terminology, and regulations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision through operational tasks.
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills; shown obsession with hitting deadlines and goals.
Adaptable and can navigate changes efficiently, adjusting operational processes and compliance procedures as needed.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Enthusiasm for the insurance industry and willingness to learn and grow.
Ability to work independently with direction as well as part of a diverse team.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and insurance-specific software with a willingness to learn.
