VP, Client - PropTech

Remote / Austin, TX / Full-time

The VP, Client - PropTech is a client and partner-facing role focusing on new business and product expansion in Assurely’s PropTech-focused sectors.  You will specialize in insurance advisory and drive growth within targeted Assurely sectors including but not restricted to construction, contractors, artisan trades and other general real estate risks within the greater Construction and Real Estate industries. 

The VP, Client - PropTech role is a unique opportunity for industry professionals because of Assurely’s focus on embedded distribution. Assurely’s early success executing embedded distribution strategies to access clients is disciplined and unique to many of the InsurTech incumbents. You will have significant interaction with our distribution partners - the vertical SaaS and operating systems focused on PropTech - and be required to recognize not only end policyholder value propositions but also how that impacts our Partners’ goals and needs.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate technical knowledge necessary to communicate Assurely product and technology solutions effectively

  • Achieve new business sales and product expansion goals within Assurely’s target market of companies and partners on a quarterly basis

  • Facilitate the necessary insurance operations and customer service objectives as directed by the insurance operations team member(s)

  • Update and improve internal information management systems

  • Be a disciplined champion of the Assurely culture and brand with external and internal partners, vendors, clients, and colleagues

Requirements

  • A self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit with excellent organization and a habit of assiduity

  • 3-5+ years of experience in insurance brokerage, carrier, or a related insurance business sales and/or account management position (experience is agnostic to SMB, middle-market, or enterprise customers we typically focus on SMBs and middle-market)

  • Experience interacting directly with construction, contractors, and/or other trade and service professional policyholders in the greater Real Estate industry

  • Experience interacting directly with underwriters and/or other key insurance stakeholders who support construction, contractors, and/or other trade and service professional policyholders in the greater Real Estate industry

  • Demonstrates an ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally and a commitment to coming through for people

  • Demonstrates a logical, rational approach to tackling new ideas, sorting information, and discovering creative solutions as problems are presented

  • Experience supporting clients through construction claims, evaluating claims history and risk management opportunities to avoid them, and you certainly must have the ability to discuss real world construction claims scenarios with clients

  • Self-motivated with intense curiosity 

  • Current insurance licensing

Nice to haves

  • Experience with contractors specifically general contractors and or homebuilders

  • College degree

  • Experience with multiple lines of business insurance coverage

  • Experience with agency management system(s), CRMs, as well as carrier rating platforms, PDF Edit, and completing ACORD forms and COIs

  • Existing relationships with carrier partners specializing in the PropTech industry

The compensation package is a combination of salary, business development-based compensation, equity, health insurance, and being part of the mission to create the future norm of the insurance industry.
