VP, Financial Operations

Assurely is looking for someone to manage our Financial Operations as well as contribute to the building and refining of our current financial controls, operations, and planning.

Our ideal candidate will have insurance experience and be able to both execute and update scalable financial operations. We are looking for a doer who understands how things traditionally work, how things should work in the future, and be able to balance the duality of pragmatism vs. perfection on how to best implement the most appropriate financial operations solution for Assurely.
Your core responsibilities will be to execute on the daily financial operations such as maintaining and managing financial statements, monthly reconciliation/ accounting close, payroll, budgets, and tax compliance, but you 100% will be asked be involved in more. We are looking for someone that will enjoy those expanded responsibilities.
Requirements
Insurance experience
Strong experience maintaining internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, budgets and actual expenditures
Strong budgeting and financial modeling skills aka an excel wizard
Commission tracking experience
Experience evaluating or integrating financial operations software
Ability to take various inputs and create ad hoc reporting, dashboards, and operational insights
Track record of process improvement
Investor reporting experience
Nice to haves
CPA
Experience with tax reporting/ coordination
Experience with Surplus Lines
Early-stage venture/ growth experience
Experience integrating automated billing and other financial operations software into a technology roadmap
Experience evaluating, selecting, and managing service providers/ vendors/ software
Strong banking relationships
